Yong
Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore
A grant of US$50,000 was awarded to the Seybold Jen and Suean Lin Scholarship Fund in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.  This Scholarship Fund will support 4-5 students throughout their medical studies at NUS.

NUS Entrepreneurship Center, National University of Singapore
A US$14,000 grant was awarded to support student attendance at the Summer Program for Economic and Enterprise Development. The National University of Singapore Entrepreneurship Centre (NEC) organized the Summer Program for students from NUS partner universities around the world.  The Program was held in July 2008 on the NUS campus.

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore
The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy received a third grant of US$61,340 which will continue to support two scholarships for students from China in the Masters in Public Administration program.


Sajjad Foundation Pakistani Bursary Fund,
National University of Singapore
A US$32,500 grant was awarded to the Sajjad Foundation Pakistani Bursary Fund at NUS. The Fund, which aims to help financially needy Pakistani students in the University, is the brainchild of three NUS alumni of Pakistani origin: Rameez Ansar, Mirza Baig and Salman Idrees.

Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer Program
The Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer Programme is a collaborative effort among National University of Singapore, National University Hospital and
Viva Foundation. A US$108 gift was given to support the program,
which promotes initiatives to advance education and research in pediatric oncology, including the establishment of a children’s cancer center.

School of Computing, National University of Singapore
A US$125,000 grant was made toward the Sung Kah Kay Assistant Professorship. The professorship aims to recruit and nurture young, first-rate computer science faculty members specifically in areas of Computer Vision, Media and Robotics.

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy received a US$55,100 grant to
support two scholarships for students from China in the
Masters in Public Administration program

Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore
The Department of Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine was awarded a US$35,000 grant toward the advancement of studies and training in neurosurgery.

Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore
The Faculty of Dentistry received a US$1,000 gift to enhance academic and research programs at the Departments of Preventive Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry.

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering received a US$25,000 grant to further its research into techniques for improving complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) frequency synthesizers, which are essential for any modern communications device to function.

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore
A US$73,000 grant was awarded to support two scholarships for students from China in the Masters in Public Policy program at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The scholarships were named “Hefner Fellowships”.
